Bruno Herrera (Culiacán, 1998) cinefotógrafo mexicano cuya pasión por la luz y la narrativa lo ha llevado a explorar diversos géneros audiovisuales, con un enfoque especial en la ficción y el documental. Egresado del Departamento de Imagen y Sonido de la Universidad de Guadalajara, comenzó su trayectoria en el departamento de cámara y, desde 2020, se ha dedicado exclusivamente a la dirección de fotografía.
Desde sus primeros proyectos entendió el lenguaje visual como una pieza central en la construcción cinematográfica. Su estilo se caracteriza por un manejo sensible de la luz, tanto natural como artificial, explorando cómo ésta transforma los espacios y revela las emociones de los personajes. Esta visión se refleja en trabajos como Invierno (2021), nominado al Ariel por la AMACC, y Verano (2022), premiado en festivales como el FICM y BAFICI.
Su ópera prima como director de fotografía, El fin de las primeras veces, tendrá su estreno mundial en el Festival Internacional de Cine de San Francisco (SFFILM) 2025. La película es distribuida por Piano y actualmente se encuentra en proceso de circulación internacional.
Ha trabajado en videoclips, largometrajes de ficción, documentales y comerciales junto a productoras como Contratiempo Cine, La Corriente del Golfo, IMCINE, MUT y Central Films. Su formación técnica y artística se ha enriquecido a través de talleres especializados con cinefotógrafos como Alexis Zabé, ASC AMC, y Daniela Cajías, AEC. En 2024 fue seleccionado para el Talent Camera Studio del Festival Internacional de Cine en Guadalajara (FICG), consolidando su camino como una voz emergente dentro de la cinematografía mexicana.
Para Bruno, la dirección de fotografía no es solo un oficio técnico: es una forma de conectar culturas, sensibilidades y emociones a través de la imagen. Su búsqueda visual parte siempre de un compromiso personal con las historias que decide contar.

Bruno Herrera (Culiacán, 1998) is a Mexican cinematographer whose passion for light and storytelling has led him to explore a wide range of audiovisual genres, with a strong focus on fiction and documentary. He graduated from the Department of Image and Sound at the University of Guadalajara, began his career in the camera department, and since 2020 has worked exclusively as a director of photography.
From his earliest projects, he understood visual language as a central element of cinematic storytelling. His style is defined by a sensitive approach to both natural and artificial light, exploring how it transforms spaces and reveals the emotional states of characters. This is reflected in works such as Invierno (2021), nominated for an Ariel Award by the Mexican Academy of Film Arts and Sciences (AMACC), and Verano (2022), which received recognition at international festivals including FICM and BAFICI.
His first feature film as cinematographer, The Last First Time, will have its world premiere at the San Francisco International Film Festival (SFFILM) 2025. The film is being distributed by Piano and is currently in international circulation.
Bruno has worked across music videos, fiction films, documentaries, and commercials, collaborating with production companies such as Contratiempo Cine, La Corriente del Golfo, IMCINE, MUT, and Central Films. His technical and artistic training has been enriched through specialized workshops with acclaimed cinematographers including Alexis Zabé, ASC AMC, and Daniela Cajías, AEC. In 2024, he was selected for the Talent Camera Studio at the Guadalajara International Film Festival (FICG), reinforcing his path as an emerging voice in Mexican cinematography.
For Bruno, cinematography is not only a technical craft—it’s a way to connect cultures, sensitivities, and emotions through images. His visual approach is grounded in a personal commitment to the stories he chooses to tell.
